Series 2/Episode 11
There’s a lot of off road camper trailers on the market these days. Now let me share with you a few of my tips to help you choose one that does just about everything.
It’s got to be quick and easy to set up. Take a look at just how easy the TVAN is to set up. Or you can just open the hatch and climb in! It even comes with a fly screen to keep the bugs out, a feature unique to the TVAN because it has a solid roof and walls.
A lot of manufactures use a whole heap of canvas to create a lot of space and while TVAN do use canvas you don’t have to set it up every time and the hard shell over the bed means that its already set up and the bed always made. One advantage here is that there’s no flapping canvas keeping you awake all night.
When its time to pack up, you’re looking not only for something that’s easy, but practical as well. The TVAN’s tent stores in its hatch away from the bed, meaning your bedding and gear stay dry.
Storage is a huge factor when it comes to off road travel, you need to be able to carry all your gear and all your liquids, like water and fuel. So look for room to carry your jerry cans and its highly recommended that you buy a camper with built in water tanks. The TVAN is fitted with two 70 litre water tanks and can carry six jerry cans, 120 litres so that’s a whopping total of 260 litres in the dedicated spaces.
