Since delivering the first QUANTUM Supercamper to customers back in 2008, Australian Off Road Camper’s has struggled to keep up with demand for what has become the Australian benchmark in off-road camper design and comfort.
2012 sees delivery of the next generation QUANTUM Series II which includes many innovations and is the product of Australian Off Road’s policy of continuous improvement. Many of the innovations have been the result of customer feedback, either in person or through a very active Owner’s Forum on the AOR website.
The QUANTUM is built to bridge the gap between a camper and an off-road caravan, purpose built for those who want camper trailer agility with caravan comfort. Features of the new QUANTUM Series II include:
- The option of coloured checker-plating to the lower half of the exterior to give a rugged off-road appearance.
- A re-engineered chassis with a larger drawbar and strengthening to the rear chassis and wheel arches enhances the off-road durability.
- Upgraded suspension which ensures extreme off-road capability.
- A macerator toilet system, an off-road industry first, which includes an 80 litre black water tank and dedicated flushing water tank to allow greater independence off-road.
A limited edition run of ten QUANTUM Anniversary models is being produced to celebrate not just the evolution to Series II but also the 10th anniversary of a company which began in the Sunshine Coast hinterland and has grown to be one of the region’s larger employers.
Australian Off Road is indeed an Australian manufacturing success story. Steve Budden began fabricating his own off-road camping trailers, with the perfectionist in him creating a trailer that wouldn’t be beaten by the Australian outback, a true off road camper that was capable of handling all the 4x4 rigors from Cape to Cape and the toughest terrain in-between without breaking.
Now based in Caloundra QLD, Australian Off Road has grown from a two person operation in a shed, to a 2,000 square metre manufacturing factory employing 80 staff and which builds the bulk of components and products on site to meet a high standard of quality.
