Travelling along the NSW coast recently we decided to stay at Ulladulla as we had heard a lot about it, and in deciding where to stay we chose the Ulladulla Holiday Village and we were happy we did.
This three and a half star holiday park is set on 12 pristine acres, has 35 powered sites, 10 camp sites and 28 cottages of which 16 are doubles and 12 singles.
We were made very welcome by our hosts, Natalie and Richard Olsen who manage this park which is unique, quiet and has great facilities. Each powered site is very spacious with great grassed area, as are the camping sites and there is a kiosk if you need to top up on bread, milk and other needs.
If you belong to a caravan or motor home club and heading into Uladulla then this is a holiday park you would really have to consider! It has a great conference room suitable for your meetings, but can also be used for weddings, birthdays and conferences. The other thing I found enjoyable was the range of other facilities available. There's a great tennis court, basketball court, squash court, sauna and spa, games and family room which is ideal for the kids and grown ups as well, a great relaxing pool, BBQ area, laundry, and of course it's quiet and most relaxing. It's all a matter of what you want to do next before Happy Hour begins! Kangaroos drop in of an evening and are a great attraction for the kids.
The amenities area really blew me away because I found you have your own privacy in individual showers and toilets. Each unit has heating if you feel a little cool after a shower and is also equipped with exhaust fans, and there's provision for the ladies to plug in a hairdryer.
Ulladulla Holiday Village is only a few minutes drive from the main township or an enjoyable walk or bike ride if you wish. There are two supermarkets (Coles & Aldi) in Ulladulla and when we were there, Safeways had commenced building a new store as well. We enjoyed a great game of lawn bowls at the local club and were made very welcome by their members. There's also a great golf club and they tell me the 19th hole is something else! If you want a great takeaway meal I strongly suggest you check out the kiosk at the Marine Rescue Centre in Harbour Drive. If you want to know more about this great little place have a look at our "food to go" section on the Whats Up Downunder website.
The holiday village is also close to Racecourse Beach, Rennies Beach and Mollymook and also a short drive to Burill lake where there's some great fishing to be had. This area is also suited for water ski enthusiasts. For a bit of added entertainment there's a great cinema in the nearby town of Milton which also has arts and crafts shops. Milton also has a great hospital which I had to make a quick visit to, and I must say the staff were absolutely fantastic! Opposite the hospital is a doctors surgery who recently won a national award for their service and facility and I must add they look after travellers exceptionally well!
So, if you are travelling along the NSW coast and want a quiet friendly place to stay for a few days with lots on offer then Ulladulla Holiday Village is a must.
