If you are heading north out of Melbourne, then only two and a half hours away you will find a great little oasis; the Oasis Caravan Park at Cobram in Victoria.
This independently operated park is run by Libro Mustica and his family (a divsion of Oasis Homes) has 40-powered sites with sullage and 40 luxury ensuite sites which I can only describe as a dream. Each ensuite site has a concrete caravan motor home pad, gravel car park area, personal lawn space and sullage pit. Each magnificent ensuite consists of a large vanity unit with mirror and fully tiled shower area.
The amenities and laundry area are what I would class as five star for a caravan park. The park also has on site cabins available and all are magnificently kept.
There is also a camping area, a great BBQ area and a fantastic swimming pool for relaxation.
Oasis Caravan Park is only one kilometre to the town centre which boasts a great shopping and a welcome information centre whose staff have excellent knowledge of the area and attractions. It's only a two kilometre drive to the Murray River and for lawn bowlers and golfers there's the fantastic Barooga Bowls & Golf Club. The club also has great meals, is licensed and also operates a Tabaret.
Apart from all that there are the many farms who sell their produce direct to the public at great prices coupled with a warm friendly country welcome.
When I travel north out of Melbourne I always make my first nights' stop at Cobram, and sometimes spend an extra day there, and coincidentally I have found this caravan park has not increased its rates over the past four years.
