The Central Coast New South Wales is a beautiful area, great beaches, plenty of sunshine and four wonderful Central Coast Tourist Parks that work together to give you a fabulous choice of places to stay, and all within about an hours drive of Sydney.
Norah Head Tourist Park is a perfect spot for anyone who cannot go on holiday without their surfboard! You get the choice of two swimming beaches, Lakes or Soldiers Point, which are just a short walk through the native flora. If you want to go surfing then another walk gets you to Soldiers Beach which is home to surf competitions.
The Park has a superb range of accommodation for you to choose from, with all of the seven styles of cabins bearing bird names. If you want to ‘see before you buy’ then it is worth going to the website and taking a virtual tour of the accommodation. These tours, I am glad to say, really show the cabins well plus they download very quickly.
If you bring your own caravan, you have a choice between powered and powered with en-suite sites, and you can thrown in superior sites too – the best settings possible. There are also camp sites, and the bunkhouse has rooms for two or four people, which all adds up to a great range to suit all pockets.
Overlooking the beaches is the Norah Head Lighthouse, which was built in 1903. You can do tours around here (must be five years and over and groups of 10). You get a fabulous view from the top once you have climbed the 90 odd steps!
There are three licenced clubs in the area, and a courtesy bus is available from the park, which is good news given the number of roundabouts in the area! If you want to catch your own food, there is great fishing from just about anywhere, or you can move it up a notch and go to Lakes Beach for some deep sea fishing. You do need to avoid the Pelicans who really love fish, but you can just join in the pelican feeding frenzy at Memorial Park at The Entrance, any day at 3.30pm.
Norah Head Tourist Park has a jumping pillow for the young and active, plus a swimming pool. They also have an excellent newsletter on line through their website, which gives the latest news and information on the park and the activities. For the first time you will be able to book the kids in for professional learn to swim classes over the Christmas 2010 school holidays – what a good idea is that! Just keep checking the newsletter for the latest updates.
Norah Head Tourist Park is in a brilliant area, and a great holiday spot for everyone.
