Set right on the Clyde River is Easts Riverside Holiday Park, which is an absolute delight. The Eurobodalla Coast is one of my favourite spots, a lovely place to spent some time when we are travelling around.
Easts Riverside Holiday Park is a wonderful place to use as a base, and to give you plenty of reasons to stay on the park too. If you are towing your van then you can choose between a powered site and an en-suite powered site, of course there are great tent sites too. But the cabins are real stars here, with 9 styles to choose from, many with a spa. If you are a big family, then the three bedroom spa cabin may be just your things. Some of the cabins have water views, some are elevated to get the view, but they are all kitted out with comfort and relaxing in mind.
There is a lovely swimming pool and plenty of space to relax and contemplate the water. If you are there on a Tuesday (outside school holidays) check out to see if the afternoon tea is on, it is BYO cup and just enjoy fellow travelers company.
If you want to go touring around, you might like to thing about taking a lunch time cruise on the Clyde River. Imagine gently cruising the river while you enjoy a stunning selection of sea food with a glass of an excellent wine. Some things are just pure bliss.
There are so many things to do in the area, that you will need to leave plenty of time to get around. Batemans Bay is a lovely spot and worth strolling through. The park overlooks the township and the night light are stunning. My feeble try at taking a photo only gives a vague hint of how beautiful it is.
As you can imagine the area is renowned for its sea food, and you can get a taste of it just about anywhere here. Oysters are a great favourite, but you can also catch your own dinner, just find a spot and drop in a line – I am told it really is as easy as that.
When you ring to make a booking during January, check out to see if it is the year for the George Bass Marathon, which is held every second year. This is one of the toughest surfboat races in the world with crews rowing from Batemans Bay for 170km to Eden – tough indeed.
Come to the Eurobodalla Coast, head for Batemans Bay and check in with the Easts Riverside Holiday Park, an incredible combination.
