I love this part of the country, it is really beautiful and always changing. As a Queenslander I also enjoy seeing the colours of the seasons, Autumn has some very special colours. Mind you, winter is not necessarily my favourite time, particularly when the winds blows straight off the mountains.
But, winter is a very important time here, and Bright Pine Valley Tourist Park have made sure that whatever time of the year you come to stay they will have the right accommodation and the right facilities.
You can choose from a lovely selections of cabins, with some extra touches to make them just that bit more like home. The two bedroom superior cabins all look the same on the outside, but are all different inside. You might have to stay in all of them to find your favourite! There are unpowered sites and powered sites too for your caravan, and I have stayed in my caravan, in winter, in Bright.
For the skiers, you can choose between Hotham, Falls Creek and Mt Buffalo, plus there is a drying room for your ski clothes, an essential part of the skiing experience. For the summer visitors the park has a swimming pool and spa, tennis court and playground.
Bright Pine Valley Tourist Park is just a quick walk into Bright, which is a delightful village, with some excellent places to eat. I like being able to walk into the village, it sort of makes me feel better about indulging in some of the outstanding food you can find there.
As you can imagine there is a major wine industry in the area, with cool climate wines making their mark. Bright also boasts a boutique brewer
Bike riding is an important part of the pleasure of the area, with the Murray to Mountain Rail Trail, which is a walking and bike track built on the old railway line between Bright and Wangaratta. It is about 98km all told and goes along the banks of the Ovens River for quite some time. The track, because it is sealed and reasonably flat, is easy for kids too.
There is plenty to do in Bright, at any season, and there is a very good tourism website at www.visitalpinevictoria.com.au that is worth looking at.
But, the choice for accommodation is easy, just give the Bright Pine Valley Tourist Park a call.
