Fancy a nice stroll?
There are some areas that are just too perfect to see in one day or even two days. The Blackall Range on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast is one of those. To make sure that you have time to see this fabulous area the third Festival of the Walks is being held over August 19th to 28th 2011.
The Blackall Range is one of those rare areas with stunning views over to the coast, plus inland from the ridge of the Range. There are areas of rain forest, eucalypt forest, cool fresh water streams, native animals, birds galore and so much more.
What better way to see all of these than to put on the hiking boots, get a group of friends and come along and enjoy this unique Festival. If you are not a walker but like the idea of being in the incredible fresh air then you can join organised walks, some only take about 20 minutes.
There are also some themed walks that are quiet easy, the Taste of Montville walk involves you walking the through this wonderful village and stopping here and there to taste the great food available. I think the walks called “Walk on the Wild Side” and “Speed Dating Walk” deserve some special attention.
The photograph competition is open to adults and a special section for children, with some great prizes. If you want more information on this exceptional festival then their website at www.festivalofthewalks.com.au is excellent with lots of information, links to walking groups, maps and a full program of the walks.
You will need somewhere to say while you are the festival, and there are three Top Tourist Parks in the area to choose from – Lilyponds Holiday Park www.lilyponds.com.au Palmwoods Caravan Park www.palmwoodspark.com.au and Ocean View Caravan Park www.oceanviewtouristpark.com.au
Why wait, check out the sites, book your accommodation and choose your walks.
