They say diamonds are a girls' best friend, but at Sapphire in Queensland you can have a great time in tranquil surroundings and please your lady at the same time.
Carol and Greg Graham know everything there is to know about gems and sapphires and have been involved in mining of these for over 40-years. Set in tranquil surroundings you can spend as long as you want finding gems and then have them turned into fine jewellery for the lady of your life.
Carol is always on hand to help everyone make a great find and her expertise and advice is first class.
At Armfest you will learn how to fossick correctly and identify the precious stones you find, all from their commercial mine. Rare and exotic sapphires are their specialty and are a guarantee of quality. Most sapphires come with independent authentication and valuation certificates. if you are also looking for an investment sapphire, Armfest is sure to have one that will suit your needs.
Carol and Greg have made the fossicking area a delight for all visitors. While you are fossicking you are overlooking a beautiful lagoon with wildlife. There is a plentiful supply of tea, coffee, biscuits and sometimes freshly made scones and its FREE! Very shortly the lagoon is being stocked with fish, so if the blokes think fossicking is boring then there's a great opportunity for them to wet a line, and you get to take your catch with you for an enjoyable meal.
But it's not all sapphires and gems at Armfest! Carol Graham puts in a fantastic effort to injured wildlife and when she's not busy with the many visitors she caring for visitors of another kind. Carol is a carer for many injured animals that end up at Armfest; mainly "joeys" that have survived in kangaroo pouches after the mothers have been killed on roads. It's also a full time job for Carol, but she loves and cares greatly for wildlife.
Armfest is certainly worth a visit and you will leave very happy with what you find when fossicking. My wife along with many others were very happy with their finds and I have to say sapphires when turned into jewellery look fantastic.
